Getting Started for Ninth Graders

Every ninth grader at HHS will enroll in 7 credits of classes for their ninth grade year.  These classes are chosen in the spring of their 8th-grade year. Schedules are expected to come through by August 1st in time for orientation later that month.

If a student wishes to override a decision based on a teacher recommendation put into the system that student should fill out the form below.

9th Grade Orientation

During the event, students will have the opportunity to walk around the school using their schedules to locate classrooms and become familiar with the building. They will meet members of the School Administration and learn about important resources and supports available to them. Current students will also share their experiences and highlight the many opportunities to get involved, including clubs, athletics, and activities. We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2030 and helping them start their high school journey strong!

Most 9th graders enroll in certain Core Courses that fulfill graduation requirements or other important roles.  Below is a list of the required courses categorized by subject area as well as their associated Academic Level (Additional information regarding Academic Levels can be found under the Introduction tab):

Depending on a student's choices of core courses, there may be room in the schedule for elective courses.
