Senior Events Behavior Expectations

In past years, some seniors have engaged in destructive acts or pranks to celebrate their last weeks in school. Please be aware that anyone who vandalizes school grounds or facilities will be charged with destruction of property, face disciplinary action, and forfeit the privilege of participating in graduation exercises. Students found to be involved in any other actions(s) deemed to be in violation of the school discipline policies may forfeit their opportunity to participate in any or all of the activities planned during the calendar of events for seniors, including the graduation ceremony. With the complete cooperation of each student, the graduation exercises will be a positive and memorable experience for all.

For the graduation ceremony, students must dress appropriately with their caps and gowns. No signs, messages, decals, or other decorations are allowed on caps and gowns, with the exception of awards presented by the school.

Obligations

All outstanding obligations, including lost texts, missing library books, overdue activity fees, class dues, cafeteria charges, sports uniforms, etc. must be reconciled before a student can participate in the graduation ceremony. A list is available in the Main Office of all outstanding obligations. Students will NOT be issued a cap and gown if he/she still has an obligation due.

Downloading Documents

Holliston Google accounts for graduates will be deactivated soon after graduation. Seniors can save and download all of their Google Drive docs, Gmail, and other data by using Google Takeout (step-by-step instructions).

Gather Your Belongings

Graduating seniors should make sure they collect any of their belongings before the end of senior exams, especially from
  • hall lockers
  • field house lockers
  • nurse's office (medications or epi-pens)

Graduation Requirements

Please keep in mind that, in order to receive a diploma, a student must meet all requirements listed in the Student & Parent Handbook and below:
  • Earn the minimum total number of credits (26 credits)
  • Earn defined number of credits in prescribed curriculum areas
  • Earn 5.0 credits in the senior year, with at least 2.5 credits earned during the seconds semester
Any student who has not met the academic requirements will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony. Also, discipline issues must be resolved in order for students to participate in the graduation ceremony.
