HHS students participated in Tai Chi sessions in Wellness classes last week. Students learned about how Tai Chi encourages standing meditation to clear the mind and body, and practiced a number of warm-ups and exercises.

The sessions were led by Joshua Grant of the Boston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute

Tai Chi is an art form that combines Chinese historical references, poetry, medicine, astronomy, philosophy, literature, music, and martial arts. The movements and postures have exotic names such as "Part the Wild Horse's Mane," "Play the Lute," and "Hands Wave Like Clouds." (from Introduction to Tai Chi by the Boston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute).
