ART SAVES LIVES

 

The 2021 "Art Saves Lives" T-Shirt is here!  Visit the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Google Classrooms to see this year's clever design by Hannah Ellis and Corinne Doucette and order a t-shirt online!  Once the shirts arrive you can pick yours up in Mr. Lack's room!  This opportunity only lasts until Monday May 10th, so act now!   

 

Art Saves Lives is exhibiting in the school on Thursday, May 20th.  If you order your shirt now you'll be able to wear it on the day of Art Saves Lives to show your support!

 

GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE


There will be a Gay Straight Alliance meeting TODAY at 3:00 p.m. in the band room, Room 108.

Any sophomore who is interested in running for the Student Advisory  Regional Council should either see Mr. Bernstein in Room 619 or email him at bernsteinj@holliston.k12.ma.us by Tuesday May 11th for information and nomination forms.  

 

FIRST CHAPTER

 

On Friday everyone is invited to check out the First Chapter display in the courtyard. This week's book is Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin.  

It is about a nonbinary teenager who is hoping for a fresh start at a new school. They start an anonymous blog about their experiences but are ultimately discovered by a classmate.

VIRTUAL TRIVIA NIGHT


The HHS class of 2021 will be hosting a virtual trivia night on Friday, May 7th at 7 pm. Form a team of 4 to 6 people and compete against some HHS teachers at this battle of wits. There will be a grand prize of $100 in gift cards to select stores or restaurants awarded to the winning team. The participation fee is $10 per team, but teams of HHS seniors can play for free. The link to sign up will be posted on all HHS Google Classroom class pages. Registration closes on TODAY and payments are due by May 6th. Don’t miss this opportunity to flex your intellectual muscles and win some serious cash!

Reminder that today there is a First Chapter Friday book walk in the courtyard. Everyone is invited to check it out. This week's book is The Reason I Jump by Naoki Higashida. This book was written by the author when he was just 13 years old. Naoki is autistic and non speaking and we learn from his point of view what it's like to be him.

Unified basketball had their last game of the season yesterday and beat Hopkinton 50-46! 

Freshman volleyball beat Medfield and Girls Swim & Dive beat Hopkinton

The football team beat Medfield on Friday night!


Knitting Club! Knitters of all skill levels are invited to come knit virtually every Tuesday at 3 o'clock. We knit just for fun, and we are also accepting donations to send to local homeless shelters. Please contact Marie Meisner or Madame Nelson in room 629 if you're interested in joining.


April is the National Month of Hope - The Counseling Department is looking for student and faculty volunteers to help come up with ideas and decorate the school during DSB and transition time. If you are interested in helping please sign up via this google form

-Freshman Carmen Luisi has been named the Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Cross Country Player of the Year for the 2020 - 2021 school year. The Gatorade Player of the Year program recognizes the nation’s most elite high school athletes for not only athletic excellence, but also for high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character.

 

Reminder that, due to COVID restrictions, athletic and school events do not allow general spectators.

National Transgender Day of VIsiabilty is today Wed. Enigma, HHS’s Literary Magazine, is looking for new members! The literary magazine is in the process of putting together the spring issue and would love more creative minds to help out! If you or a friend have any art, writing or photography you’d like to submit or would like to help design the magazine, we meet every Wednesday at 3 virtually!
