  • The goal of the Holliston Public Schools Health Services Department is to promote an optimum level of wellness and remove health related barriers in order to enhance the education process. We believe that health and education are interrelated and that a healthy student is the best learner. 
  • The HPS Health Services Department is committed to providing basic health services, health promotion and prevention of disease, health maintenance and a safe and caring environment for all students.
  • The Health Services Dept. provides basic health services that include first aid, management of emergencies, health teaching and counseling, administration of medications and treatments, assistance in management of chronic illness, infectious disease control, monitoring of immunizations and required physical exams, annual vision, hearing, scoliosis and growth screening programs and staff training in CPR, Allergy Management Programs, Epinephrine Administration Programs,  and Standard Precaution Programs.
NEWS FLASH:  Grade 9 and 10 Screening Reminder
The annual vision, hearing, height, weight, and postural screenings will be conducted at the High School for our 9th and 10th grade students.  The screenings will occur on September 25th and 26th.  

In accordance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations, the following screenings will be performed for specific grades:
  • Grade 9:  postural (scoliosis) screening
  • Grade 10:  vision, hearing, height, and weight
These screenings are mandated by the state.  A religious exemption, medical exemption, or a doctor's note submitted before the screening is acceptable to excuse your child from any portion of the exam.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Reminders to Parent/Guardians and Students Grade 10 Parents/Guardians RE: Physical Exams: 
PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS are required by Massachusetts Law, (M.G.L. Chapter 71, Section 57). During the high school years, a physical is required for Grade 10 students with results on file by June 1. For students entering GRADE 10 in the Fall of 2017- A physical exam dated between March 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018 is mandated by state law. If your child has had a recent exam please send a copy of the document to the HHS Nurse.  You can also fax your child's exam to FAX 508-893-6053.

HHS Fall 2017 Athletics-Physical Exams:
It's that time of year to turn in updated physical exams for the HHS Fall Sports Programs. All physicals must be turned in to the School Nurse. Physical  exam documents may dropped off at the Holliston High School Main Office or may be faxed to HHS School Nurse at 508-893-6053.
Please write your grade and sport on the top right hand corner of the document.
The Athletic Department, coaches, Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director do not accept the physical exam documents.

MIAA Rule 56.1 Clarification"Written doctor medical clearance notes do NOT take place of an annual physical exam. MD clearance notes in lieu of physical exams will NOT be accepted.
