Computer Imaging

This course introduces students to the basic techniques and programs of computer imaging and explores ways in which contemporary artists use the computer as an artistic medium. Students create original images including advertising design, page layout, logos, and altering/enhancing photographs. The images are evaluated using the vocabulary of visual art and appropriate references to visual literacy. Students will participate in group critiques and self-assessment, engage in reflective writing, and read associated articles. Students should anticipate 1.5 hours of homework each week. This course should follow 2D Design.
